Period Question

After 9 years on birth control I have finally stopped as my hubby and I are going to start trying this August. I just got my 1st period after nine years and found it to be very light and nowhere near the pain I typically experienced 9 years earlier when I would get my period. Is this normal and will the unfortunate heavy flow and intense pain likely come back within a couple more cycles? Also, not to be TMI, but does anyone experience the issue of having a lot of BM’s right before and during your period? This is one thing that has definitely come back. TIA.
