Does where you live tell someone who you are

This boy asked what area of NJ I live in to see what kind of person I am and i told him where I live doesn’t determine who I am. And he asked for me to explain so I told him you could come from a bad area and be a good person and someone could come from a good area but be a bad person.

I would say that the place you are from does give you a certain connotation but it doesn’t define who you are. People judge according to stereotypes that are mostly ridiculous but still might be true for someone.

Yes to an extent, NJ has so many different areas. I was raised on the shore I would def be a dif type of person if I was raised in Newark. Exactly what you said, not that I'd be mean or anything but certainly changes your perspective of the world and cultural influence. The shore is predominantly white while north Jersey has wayyy more diversity. 🤷🏾‍♀️
