Highlights in the 1st trimester?!

I have an appt today to get partial highlights- my hair is a mess after basically neglecting myself for the last 7 weeks. I've asked my nurse and she's said it's safe as long as it's well ventilated and to advise my stylist as well. What is everyone's thoughts? Did anyone get their hair done in the 1st trimester? Any side effects?

Hi there! I'm a hairdresser and it's perfectly safe :) my coworkers whom have been pregnant stay working until their due date and have healthy babies, and I also have clients whom get their hair done all the way down to their due date :)

My last pregnancy I kept my hair done . I have the blonde on top and dark under . My baby was fine and I get mine done like every 3 mos

I asked my hair dresser bc my hair is platinum blonde!! My roots are lookin crazy! She told me it was safe and wouldn't affect high lift color. She said she wouldn't use bleach but I'm safe. And I'm only 6 wks

I got partial highlights at 6 weeks, as long as it's not all over color (so I've heard from my dresser) it's safe. After the fact, I was getting my hair styled for a wedding out of town, that hairdresser said highlights are fine too..but don't get the cranial massage. I have no idea as to why not, and I got that done (part of her usual service....whoops). So not sure the story on that, or if that is a myth. But I'll be 13 weeks tomorrow & have a healthy baby!

I did, and nothing happened.. So don't worry.. Even my doctor adviced not to worry, it's safe 😊
