How do you feel about the Amber teething necklace?

I have always thought any necklace at that age seems like a strangulation accident just waiting to happen if it gets caught on something. Maybe I’m a worry wart, but no thanks for me.

It makes no sense for them to work at all. Why are people even considering that a string of rocks would decrease tooth pain? Are we living in 10th century? So frustrating that society doesn’t move ahead even when we have SO MUCH more understanding of how human body works. 
Just stop spreading falsehood. This is the same kind of BS that makes some people think vaccination is bad for their kids. Once we stop using logic and science, any random theory becomes plausible. 
This is not to you, but to people who actually spread these pseudoscience ideas.

They are choking hazards. I was given one but my daughter hasn’t really had any bad teething episodes... she has 12 teeth.... I read up on them and it’s just to dangerous for me to be ok with.... I’d look into the anklets or bracelets before you choose a necklace

I asked my pediatrician about these when my son was younger because they were all the rage for a while. She promptly told me no because they’re a choking hazard if the beads somehow get loose, and also a strangulation hazard if the emergency clasp doesn’t release properly. Not worth the risk, in my opinion.

I have a 9 month old and babysit a 7 month old boy. My baby has never drooled even while teething and she’s never worn the necklace. The boy I babysit has worn his amber necklace for 3 months and he drools like a faucet. The things are a joke

It can’t work. Your kid would have to run a temperature of 186 degrees to get even the slightest amount of analgesic. 
If your kid is 186 degrees, teething pain is the least of your worries.

It is very possible it works... but 1. a necklace on a baby worries me and 2. it’s supposedly constantly giving pain relief and I find that a little concerning. I wouldn’t give constant pain meds for months on end, especially as a preventative measure.

Our son wore one for a little bit still drooled and screamed when he had teeth coming in and then I forgot to put it back on after a bath and nothing changed. I personal do not think they work and my husband was freaked out by them so I never put it back on. Give them an ice cube and that makes them happier in my opinion lol

I have one that was given to us at our baby shower and have never used it. My baby is 9 months old and the strangulation risk isn’t worth it to me. I found that baby Tylenol and a baby fresh fruit feeder with frozen fruit or frozen breast worked really well. I only use Tylenol if he is in bad pain and can’t sleep.
