So my parents live mainly paycheck to paycheck, but they still spend as if they have all the money in the world most of the time. We currently have 3 dogs and my parents are thinking of also adopting a cat.

My main concerns are this: I doubt they have the money to take care of it, the dogs don’t get along with other animals except for other dogs, and my brother is allergic.

I think they won’t really be able to afford a cat bc they can barely afford the dogs; they haven’t had flea and tick medicine in a long time and they got some recently, but only bc my sister got a tick in her hair while at a friend’s house. Not that long ago, the oldest dog was having problems with his back leg - he refused to walk very far, didn’t wanna get up on furniture, and if you grabbed his back leg, he’d yelp. But my parents didn’t wanna take him in bc the dogs don’t have shots and they were worried he’d get taken away. 🙄🙄 Not to mention my brother is allergic of them and gets red watery eyes, a stuffy nose, and a scratchy throat from being in the same room as them. I tried to explain this to my dad, but he says my brother just stays in his room all the time, so it doesn’t really matter. (My brother has autism and the downstairs area is too loud for him).

I love my parents but this is just going to be a disaster
