Is it rude if a guest used air freshener in your house? As in felt like your house could use some.

If you’re a guest and you have your own guest room and want to use it in there I don’t think it’s rude but if you’re talking about putting an air freshener in the living room or any other common room then yes that’s rude

I’d say it really depends. Some people just really like scents given off by air fresheners. Or maybe they took a big crap and wanted to hide the smell lol. I probably wouldn’t think anything of it.

I mean, it could’ve happened because that’s the smell they’re used to at home? Or maybe you have a certain smell in your home they didn’t like. My apartment smells like toddlers. Literally. So I wouldn’t get offended if someone did that. My boyfriend has come over and mentioned that it smelled a bit funny one day, but I had gotten so used to the smell of things and didn’t realize that I had something spoiled in my fridge and didn’t realize it. He also brings over his candle because he lights it every night at his place before bed. I wouldn’t think too much of it and if you’re really concerned or confused just ask your guest why they’re spraying it.

I don’t like the smell of air freshener and if my home didn’t already smell like it, then yes it’s extremely rude. No matter how you twist it, changing the smell of someone’s home when you are a guest is extremely rude.

In my case I would find it super rude but that's because air fresheners and fragrances can trigger migraines. I have had to say something to my stepsons best friend about using axe body spray on himself while staying here. If my step sons get anything like that for Christmas I have to take it away from them because physically I cannot do it!!!
