Baby Shower

I’ll skip all the family drama and get straight to the point:

My mom was originally wanting to plan a baby shower for me which would include mainly my side of the family (my side lives on one side of the state, my husband’s side lives on the other.)

But NOW my mom has decided to not be involved in my life, so now there may or may not be a shower for my side of the family.

I don’t have a sister, and I don’t have female family members who are readily available at this time.

Should I plan it myself? Is it weird to plan your own baby shower? I’m asking because this is all new to me as I’m a first time mom.
