Question

Any young moms have any advice on how & when (currently 8w5d) to tell my mom? I'm 20 (will be 21 by the time baby is due) and had an abortion when I was 18. I'm scared my mom will tell me to make the same decision however this time I'm in a healthy relationship, and both me and my boyfriend are super excited! (I was in a abusive relationship at the time of my procedure) I know I'm still young however I don't want to make the same decision because it has mentally and emotionally effected me to this day. I'm so scared, please help!

I think you just tell her. You are having a baby and you are an adult. So talk to her like an adult. Abortion is your decision. Your mom will come around she's your mom.

My mom found out I was pregnant when I found out because I was in the hosptial sick. She was disappointed at first but then got happy. Now my daughter is almost 6 months and a absolutely loves my daughter. I had abortion when I was 15 got pregnant at 19 and had her at 20.

Just tell her. Don't force her to talk about it she'll come around when she's ready. I was 20 when I got pregnant. I told my mom the day I found out and just let her talk about it when she was ready now she's in love and can't wait for him to get here. I wish you the best of luck.

Tell her when you're ready. I got pregnant at 21, turned 22 in August our baby boy will be here December. I'm married one year and have been with my husband for 5 years, but as long as you're in a healthy stable relationship and can support your baby what is the problem? Maybe your mom will be disappointed, maybe she had hopes after your abortion you might go off and do things she had hopes you would do, but that's not her decision to make. My mom was happy, she had kids young. Plus she knew with my previous health problems having my kids young was best for me. But she had told me before I got pregnant she didn't want me to not follow my dreams and have a kid too quickly on purpose. She kinda always wished she had gone to college, or even got a GED. But she also knew what she wants for her kids isn't her decision. I graduated high school and she was beyond thrilled about that. She's excited for our little guy and already talks about my future kids, knowing we plan to have our kids close in age. Your mom will love you, no matter what. If she gives you grief just ignore it, people always have their own opinions on everything everyone does. Like i said, as long as you're stable, you and your boyfriend can support your baby. You've just gotta rip off the band-aid. I was 20 when I got pregnant with my son and 21 when I had him. My parents were very upset at first. Even went on to not talk to me for a while but they quickly got over it and became excited to have a grand baby. They are so involved in my sons life and couldn't be any happier. Your parents will probably be upset as well but at the end of the day they will love your child and will get over it. Just gotta get through the hard stuff first. Good luck!!

Tell her whenever you want. I told my mom as soon as I got my positive test result. I was also 20. I just turned 21 a few days ago. I'm 15 weeks 5 days now with twins. Just tell her, and be honest. Hopefully she will be happy for you. If not, hopefully she will come around. But if she doesn't, then that's her problem. Do what makes you and your SO happy. Don't let her force you into making a decision you don't want to make. My mom was really shocked at first and kind of freaked out, my dad as well. But that only last a few hours (my mom) - a day or two (my dad). They are both extremely excited now and cannot wait to meet our babies. Good luck!
