Padsicles!!? Do they really work??

I’ve read online that padsicles are a much have after having a baby vaginally. I’ve also read some mommies say they don’t really work and are just a complete mess when they melt..... so I was wondering if anybody on here had tried to make their own from home and if they actually work???

I didn’t use them and was fine. I bought a sitz spray from amazon and used dermoplast and had no issues. A lot less work too 😉

At the hospital I delivered they had pads that they froze and I used it for the first 24 hours and it helped!! Specially with swelling.

Dermoplast was a life saver for me , I didn’t make any padsicles I just used the ones they gave me in the hospital til they were gone didn’t find the need to buy a bunch of supply’s to make them when I got them from the hospital

I made a ton and threw them away because I hated them so much. They are either too cold/frozen and they are awkward and kind of hurt or they are the right temperature and then are too squishy and messy. I literally felt like I had shat myself, and that’s not what you want post partum.
Agree with everyone else. Dermoplast and tucks pads layered on a massive diaper-like pad for the first days after.

I bought these. Totally worth it. They absorb everything. I’ve also used them in my bra to help engorgement. 😊

I used some bit otneorks best if you don’t fill the pad with water entirely bc then it won’t absorb anything. Mine were made with witch hazel and aloe. They feel weird/wet, but I had a 4th degree tear so the cold did help with the swelling which reduced pain for sure. I didn’t use them constantly just once or twice a day if the Tylenol and Advil wasn’t enough. 
I also kept a container of tucks pads in the fridge - these were lovely.

I used homemade padsicles and would again. They felt amazing the first few days. I left them out about 20 mins before using. The lavender also smelled amazing which was an added bonus.

I didn’t use them as long as I thought I would but I also didn’t tear. But I absolutely loved mine. I am hot natured so having the cold was great and helped so much with the swelling. I as well used the spray which was a life saver (especially if you think they will be too cold) with the pain and numbing.

I liked the ice pack pad thing from the hospital. Less messy, though not overly absorbable. I even ordered more from Amazon! I know people looove Dermaplast, but honestly, it really stung and never really helped. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Dermaplast spray, tucks wipes laid on the pad, and then use a disposable ice pack if needed in the hospital. You shouldn’t need ice anymore by the time you go home.
