Flu jab?

Had a letter from the dr saying I need to go down for my flu jab as I'm pregnant .. Do I have to have it ? Is it recommended to have it?

I got it in the third trimester to give my baby some immunity, as he will be too young to get it this flu season.

They give you a single dose rather than the multiple dose they give non pregnant people. It has less "stuff" in it that is non essential.

Yes the doctors recommend pregnant women have it but it's obviously your choice. I work in a care setting so I'm going to have it.

It's definitely recommended.  I got it done as soon as I found out I was pregnant.

They cannot force you to get it. They recommend it, but you don't have to get it. I'm not getting one while pregnant

I didn't get mine, the nurse had it all ready for me and I told her no. She just put 'refused' for comment. Ive never gotten one and never plan to. Other vaccines are fine with me.

I turned it down. I'm terrible with injections and get really really ill everytime I have a vaccination so opted out of it

I'm not planning on getting the flu shot . I know this is a cliche reason but, I've only gotten sick the years I have gotten it. I've gotten it two years in the past 10 years and each time was very sick for nearly 2 weeks after.  The shot has a 50% chance of protecting you but I've gotten sick. 100% of the times I've gotten it so I'm avoiding it.
