Baby registry. ( dumb question )

I’m a 2nd time mom but I didn’t use a registry for my first. This year my husband suggested we have one. I made one through amazon and the other through wal mart. I’m a little lost though on how it works.

Will they send me what the person purchases if it’s bought online ? Or do they have the option to purchase at the store as well ?

What about amazon ? Will it ship to them then they bring to me ?

I know it sounds dumb lol

But I really don’t know.
