NST?? Anyone had one of these test???

I have to go to the doctor weekly now because issues with my blood pressure and protein in my urine. I just want to know what to expect. I have to get these test for the next three weeks (hopefully) before I see the doctor.

Yes I had them done a lot due to issues like preeclampsia and gestational diabetes. They just put this little monitor around your belly (same as they do in the hospital) to track movement and heartbeat. Mine lasted about 20 minutes. It's just to make sure baby isn't in distress.

Starting next week (32) I have to have 2 NST appointments a week and an OB visit. Not super excited, but at least I get to get out of the house and off the couch!

NST are just to monitor baby. They will put monitors in your belly, one for contractions, one to measure babies heartbeat. And they will monitor for typically an hour but sometimes quicker to make sure baby’s heart rate isn’t dropping or raising too drastically which can happen with preeclampsia. Sounds like that’s maybe what you have with the high bp and protein in your urine.

It just means non stress test. Usyally consists of ultrasounds, and monitoring. No big deal at all. I have to do it every time.

Had them with my son because of GD and start them again on Friday for baby #2. Will be biweekly and then weekly as I get closer.

I had to have them toward the end with my first son due to high BP and being that in overweight. I will be starting them again weekly in early june with this pregnancy. Its just like the others said you just get hooked to monitors and they watch baby and ur BP and stuff lol. I always chilled and watched tv on my phone lol.

Starting at 34weeks I will be having weekly visits,ultrasounds and NST due to me having Gestational Diabetes
