Do you think the internet has decreased people's tact?

Question

Do you believe people now are more "salty" because of the anonymity of the internet? For example people throwing negative comments on any and all social media post just because they can be hateful without having to take responsibility for their statements?
Second question: do you believe their level of saltiness says something about their personality or character?

The freedom of anonymity on the internet bleeding into everyday life. The habit of saying what people want on the internet affecting their impulse to treat people rudely in person.

No. People are rarely tactful to begin with. Anyone that’s ever worked a service job can tell you that. 
If this is about your last post though, no one was rude or particularly negative.

It has made people a lot more bold & brave. People use the internet to bully & they hide behind their screens & keyboards when some of that bullying wouldn’t be happening in person...if that makes sense. 🤔

I believe there are unkind people everywhere, but the Internet allows for an expression of this with anonymity that guards them from social consequences they would experience face to face or in the community.  The unkindness hurts more people, faster over the Internet.  So the Internet definitely provides a platform for these types of people to thrive by hurting others on a greater scale with less consequence. 
I have a family member, who I am excommunicated with now, who takes great joy and pleasure hurting people she doesn’t even know online.  She was toxic enough without the anonymity and now, online she loves it even more because those with brains like her end up cheering her on, reinforcing and supporting her behaviour - she wouldn’t find that very easily in person.

No it hasn’t, tact isn’t a bad thing either. I personally think honesty is an excellent thing and the world would be a better place if we were honest to each other.

No, it may give them more of an opportunity to say what they want but I dont think the internet specifically makes people more salty.

Yes. The large amount of rude people online in comment sections do so because they have the privacy of their own home to do it in with ZERO consequence. 
This in combination with reinforcement of others doing the same thing certainly makes it seem like normal behavior for people to reflect. 
You can’t say that it doesn’t. Like as if the internet is its own society that doesn’t breach real life. It does. The lines are certainly blurred.

I think tact is a loat art.    I find myself thinking back on something i may have said or done and feeling quite bad bc i had no tact in the way i handled it.  Its a loss of thought and intent these days.  Most of us are in a hurry and just plain not thinking when we do or say something off the cuff and if we had been more considerate and tactful we prob would hirt far less feelings even when discussing opinions and beliefs

I'm the same, honest and blunt, in reality and on the internet. People on the internet automatically assume emotions' so that's a huge part nobody talks about and likes to ignore.
