Are cervical checks risky?

I just had my cervix checked today and am cramping with Braxton Hicks. I’m wondering if they can cause premature labor. I’m only 20 weeks.

Idk why they would check your cevrvix that early🤷‍♀️ thats wayy to early but u should be fine u may have spotting

My cervix was checked at 20 week anatomy scan and good thing bc it is already on the shorter side. I didn’t have any spotting or cramping luckily.

It will not cause premature labor, you might see spotting afterwards which is normal from the cervix being irritated. But no labor.

Its not risky..but should be performed gently and slowly so they can stop right on the cervix
Im 14 weeks now and i had 2 times now

I’m about 19 weeks. I haven’t had a cervix check but I’ve had Braxton Hicks almost daily for 3 weeks now. Completely normal, apparently. As long as they don’t get worse and you don’t experience any discharge or bleeding I wouldn’t worry. 
My midwife and nurse suggested drinking a big glass of water and then laying in your side trying to relax to see if they go away.

I’m 16 weeks and will be getting my cervix checked next week. I had my first early so they want to check my cervix and make sure it’s not thinning and if there’s anything else they can do to prevent preterm labor.
