Is there an average you should get when pumping?

My baby is only 12 days old, I pump about 2-3 times a day so my husband can also feed her. Each session I'm averaging about 3oz from each breast, sometimes a little less. Is that good/normal? It just doesn't seem like a lot to me😕

Breastfed babies need about 1-1.5 ounces for every hour of the day. So you should be producing about the same. Around 24 ounces in a 24 hour period. Your supply might still pick up a little too.

That sounds good but it really just depends on what your uses for pumping are. If your baby is getting enough food then you’re doing great!

3-4 oz is a meal for a breastfed baby. That's actually a lot and as time goes on and your supply regulates don't expected to get that much during a single session

That is normal. Baby’s stomach is still very small and they don’t need much to get full. At two weeks 2-3 oz is plenty, and even as they get older most breastfed babies will never have more than 4oz per feed.
