What's the rush?

Question

What's the obsession about getting young toddlers out of their crib and sleeping in a toddler bed? Why are some parents so rushed? I know my LO is safer in her crib and I'll let her use it until it's obvious that she needs a change. I understand the desire to potty train early because of how expensive diapers are but I really don't understand the crib thing... why make life harder than it has to be? Let them be little.

Some people need the crib for baby number two. Some kids climb out of cribs and that’s dangerous. Some kids literally grow out of the crib.

Because it becomes a safety concern. When your child can climb out of the crib, they should be transitioned to a toddler bed. If they slip and fall trying to climb out and their head or face catches them, it can and has resulted in serious injury. I’ve seen the results in the ER. 
It isn’t about making them grow up faster, it’s about safety with some. 
Others need the crib for the new baby or they have a friend who desperately needs a crib and cannot afford one. 
My child was 2 when they were placed in their toddler bed due to safety concerns from climbing out. 
It just depends on the circumstances.

Once they can climb, it’s not the safest place for them anymore. They can climb up and over and then fall on the floor

Honestly i always followed my son. He was eating his crib at 14/15m so we took it away. As far as potty training its a bit away

Usually people switch when they can climb out and the crib is no longer safe. That’s when I switched mine.

My daughter started climbing out of her crib at 18 months.
