5 week old sleeping long at night.. should I pump?

My son is starting to sleep long stretches at night and he’s only 5 weeks old. Should I pump at night to keep up my supply? Or do I continue to feed on demand? Super nervous about losing my supply.

Only if you need to. 
Are you going back to work soon? If yes, then it’s up to you, if you want to build a stash. 
Will you be exclusively breastfeeding/not going back to work? If so, then your body will adjust and you don’t have any need to pump at night, unless you’re uncomfortable - but even then, only pump (or better yet hand express) the bare minimum because the more you pump, the more milk you make.

I would wake him and feed every 4 hours if he’s under 2 months old. 🤷🏼‍♀️ it will keep your supply up and help him chunk up!

I kept milk storage bags and containers in my room - then I would hand express when my daughter slept through a feed. If the temperature wasn’t too warm in my room I’d just set it on my nightstand till I got up for the day ( I follow the 6 hrs out, 6 days in the fridge, 6 months in the fridge guidelines). I plan to do the same with my son. I’d rather express and save up a supply than it just leak all over the place :)

My daughter started sleeping through the night around the same age. I would pump for like 5 minutes just to relieve the pressure but that’s it. I had to do that for about a week and then my supply adjusted.
