When to take out the infant head insert in infant car seat?

She’s 3 months in a week and can hold her head up but when she sleeps in the car her head still slouches to the side

Ours said in the manual and on the actual head support piece when to take it out. I'd check and see.

Mine said 11 pounds but I had to search and search for it because it’s not in the manual or the car seat tag. Annoying.

We had to take ours out because the shoulder straps were way too low down and couldn’t be moved up with the insert in. 
Our manual was also super unclear about the infant insert and said, “it MAY be used for an infant up to 12 lbs.”

It should tell you when to take it out in the car seat manual. I would go by that because they have those guidelines to ensure your baby is safe.

What does it say in your carseat manual? Ours said to leave it in as long as possible and as long as their head still fit comfortably. It was maybe around 2-3 months with my oldest because his head was and still is very large. My youngest kept it in until maybe 5 months.
