I don’t know if you all can see the marks, but does anyone know what this could be? His pediatrician says it’s eczema, but it started as one little patch now it covers the top of his back.

I can't see it well, but eczema spreads/flares up. If you don't know much about it, the most important thing to remember is what it responds to seems to be completely different for each individual. Try everyone's suggestions (within reason lol) and/or nothing at all, till you find what works. I have psoriasis, my son has eczema, they're basically the same thing. Mine flares up because of allergies, pregnancy, or just because it wants to. My son's, so far, reacts badly to dryer sheets used in his laundry and antibiotics. If you don't know much about it, I suggest reading up. Starting with what things instigate flare ups then move up to treatments. It's a lifelong thing cuz it's genetic and those of us with these issues really appreciate parents who can teach us how to manage it appropriately. Our pediatrician prescribed triamcinolone (a topical steroid) and it's worked great for us. Normally I'd rather deal with it more naturally but some flare ups can be fucking unbearable. It itches like crazy and we both flared up head to toe multiple times this year. Good luck, hun.

Best thing to do is take your baby to a pediatric dermatologist. My oldest had severe eczema and there’s only so much a pediatrician can do/tell you. Dermatologist will get you straight to the point and help you out the best. Other people remedies might not work for your child and I had to learn that the hard way

My daughter had this and we started using Aveeno eczema lotion every night after her bath and that cleared it up. I also don’t use a rag on her skin very often when I wash it, just my hands and that seemed to help a lot too.

My little girl has eczema and it gets bad on her back and bends of her arms. She also has keratosis (excess keratin builds up and form little white bumps like that) Botha re harmless for the most part. We use Eucerine eczema therapy and I’ve noticed a difference in both her eczema and keratosis.

People seem to have good luck with Aquaphor. I also like Cetaphil. My daughter just has a few little patches and I'm using the Burt's Bees baby lotion and it's working okay.
