Am I making a big deal?

My bf doesn’t always hug me when we see each other or when we say goodbye. 
Last time I initiated it, he told me, “I knew you wanted a hug,” as if a hug is a chore or something. 
It makes me sad and to the point where I want to break up with him. Like little touches matters to me. 
We’ve been together for a little over a year and a half now. I confronted him about it through text bc he’s sleeping. I’m just waiting for his reply

I suggest you look up the Love Language quiz, and both of you take it. Perhaps physical affection just doesn't do it for him, and he doesn't understand how important it is to you. I don't think this is a reason to break up, since everyone has different needs and no one will be 100% perfect at knowing your needs. As long as he is willing to show love the way you need it, and you are willing to do the same, you should be just fine 😊

I think you’re just taking it a bit more personally than you should be taking it. I don’t think he’s doing anything to deliberately hurt you, so just talk to him about your needs. Don’t make it all about what you think he’s doing wrong! The truth is, he’s not doing anything wrong. It’s just not the right thing from your perspective. It’s the way YOU think and feel about his behavior that makes you feel bad about it. So let him know what you need from him and why. Ask him to make more physical contact with you specifically when greeting one another hello or goodbye because thats what makes you feel loved... and not having that makes you feel ignored or neglected.

Not everyone is tutchy freely and some people just don't care for hugs. Don't take it so personally, I'm sure he is not trying to be hurtful. Also definitely have the discussion in person. Anything important should be talked about in person.

Yes I think you’re making a big deal out of nothing. Me and my boyfriend have been together 8 years and we don’t hug each other bye or when we see each other. We always say I love you before we leave but that’s about it. Honestly, I don’t think we’ve ever really done that. Even when we didn’t live together. It’s just a hug, no reason to break up with someone over it.
