sleep !!

we’ve been so blessed with a good sleeper! but we’ve also put in the work!

note: we do NOT sleep train and the minute our baby wakes up I attend to her. so no worries y’all!

some things to try that have worked wonderfully for us:

-heavier sleep sack instead of a swaddle (my girl is super wiggly and hated being swaddled. sleep sack is cozy and warm but she can move all she wants!)

-white noise in two big speakers in our room, the noise completely fills the room and makes it so she doesn’t wake up if we move in bed or sneeze lol

-warm up bassinet with heating pad before putting her in (then we take it out before lying her down of course)

-dream feed right before bed (this took practice! she gets 80% of the way woken up and eats but is still quite sleepy) and then we make sure to hold her upright for 30 minutes while she sleeps before putting her down so she doesn’t have an upset tummy in bed

-completely dark room except one WARM light. bright/white/blue light stimulates the brain!

-nursing on demand/letting her nurse whenever she wants and cluster feed for the evening hours before bed

-this one is crucial: noise does NOT mean baby is awake! so many babies make a ton of noise in their sleep/can even sound like they’re crying but this doesn’t mean they’re awake! unless the babies eyes are open, they’re sleeping. let baby sleep until they’re actively awake. I used to wake her up if she was making noise thinking she was upset but she’s really just asleep! lol

our 4 week old sleeps 4-5 hours initially then goes back down for another 3 after that 🙌🏼

would anyone add anything to my list?
