Miscarriage and TTC again

My husband and I started TTC for the first time in April, and to our shock on May 23rd I got a BFP. We didn't expect it to happen so quickly. I started spotting on Memorial Day when getting ready for bed (May 27th) and the next day at work I noticed it had gotten worse, and went to the ER immediately, where they let me know my HCG was 17.5, and a couple days later went for more blood work, where my level fell to 4. We were devastated to learn our first pregnancy ended with a miscarriage at almost 6 weeks. I bled from Tuesday to Friday than it stopped. There was so many emotions we felt in such a short period of time.

Our doctor said my cycle should return to normal in about 4-6 weeks. As of today, it still has not returned. I know I'm just being impatient. But has anyone gotten pregnant after a miscarriage and not gotten a period or does your body take more time than 4-6 weeks to heal? But I guess every woman's body is different. We want to start trying again but this waiting period is so hard, and I'm trying to keep myself busy with doing other things.
