I’m about to start college in like 2 months. Me and my bf are STRUGGLING hard. I waitress and I’ve saved up almost 2k for college. I finished my FAFSA and I’m waiting to see how much I get for college. Well... my bf is about to be homeless. I’m thinking of moving out so me and him could get an apartment. His brother would also live with us, so 3 people would be paying the rent. If I get at least 6k from FAFSA, do you think 2K would be enough to get a super super cheap and used car for me and him? I’m so stressed y’all idk what to do.

So your boyfriend doesn't have a car or a place to live? Does he work? And how is everyone going to afford the rent? The FAFSA should be used for school stuff.. and 2k isn't going to last more than a month if you need a car.

Where I’m at fasfa only gives u like 5400$ for the year. It’s broken down to so much a semester. If ur full time they give u the full amount. Depending on how much ur classes are and books are u might have some left over which does go to u to use how u want. But u won’t get it u till halfway through ur semester. However I wouldn’t move out with ur boyfriend and his brother unless they have something to contribute. And don’t blow ur $ on a car unless u really want and need it. And it should be for u not ur boyfriend. Ur to young to start trying to support someone else. As for earning more money. U could get a second job or try tutoring through ur school if u can. If u get the car u could try Uber or Lyft. Also DoorDash I hear Is easy $.
