11 Weeks today, no doctors app?

I just had a question,
I am having trouble with Medi-Cal and had to be reassigned to a different Medical group & plan, that doesn’t go into effect until July. I have only been to a doctor once at 5 weeks just to confirm I had a pregnancy.  I haven’t had any problems or bleeding etc but I’m wondering if I should try to get in somewhere before my insurance kicks in to get an ultrasound? Or if I’m okay waiting.

Where I am in Canada, we don’t usually get ultrasounds until the anatomy scan 20-22 weeks. Unless you are high risk or there is a concern. I just saw my doctor for the first time at 10 weeks, and I see him again to go over blood and urine tests at 13 weeks. The blood really is only to test for STI’s and the urine is to check for proteins. There are plenty of people who don’t realize they’re pregnant until they’re in the second trimester, so needing to wait to be seen shouldn’t be a concern unless you know you have health concerns.

OK, here’s some info. 
I had my first us at 6w4d an that was to confirm pregnancy, take blood (to confirm type etc) and urine samples, and record biometrics like weight, blood pressure, then do a family history.
But at my second appointment, at 9w5d, all they did was an us, ask me about my weight, take blood pressure, and urine sample. Very much a repeat of the first appointment minus blood test. 
I guess what you would be missing most is the blood pressure test and urine sample. If you’re blood pressure is high, you might be prescribed aspirin, because high blood pressure is not good for pregnancy. If your urine test suggests gestational diabetes or kidney infection, they can do something for that too. All other tests usually have to wait another week or another few weeks. 
You will probably be able to find somewhere that will take your blood pressure reading for free, or even be able to do it at home. If you urinate blood or feel discomfort in your kidney area you should go to hospital right away. If you start feeling dizzy or shaking and iron supplements don’t make a dent it could be diabetes. It’s the urine test you’ll mostly be missing out on if you wait for your insurance. 
Lastly, if you want to think of the worst case-scenario, going through a MMC is another possibility. If you can’t see what’s going on, maybe you will be anxious. I certainly was between my appointments. I hated going to them because of the anxiety, but I hated not going even more!!
