Breastfeeding and BC? - pills or IUD?

Question

Just had my 6 week check up and everything went super smoothly but my Doc asked about BC. I know I need it and she wrote me a prescription for pills so I can decide if I want the Mirena IUD or not. I have always used pill BC before and never and IUD. I like the idea of not having to think or worry about remembering to take anything. 
Does anyone have experience with IUDs?  How was sex with it? Did it hurt? (My sister in law said it hurt but she was also trying to get her hubs to agree to another kiddo at the time...) would you recommend it to a FTM?

I got pregnant with the copper IUD, it didn't hurt when having sex bit when they first put it on the procedure was very uncomfortable but just that I think they told me to have tylenol before so it wouldn't be painful or was it after🤔 sorry i haven't adjusted to my postpartum brain lol

My dr recommended skyla or kyleena because they have less hormones than mirena. Skyla is 3 years only kyleena is 5 years. Only 4 weeks pp so haven’t gotten mine yet but I’m leaning towards skyla

I had Mirena for 3 years before deciding to try to get pregnant and have no complaints. Insertion of the IUD did hurt, very crampy - BUT my doctor said it should hurt less now and also now that I’ve had a baby, it’s nothing compared to what we just went thru lol. It never hurt during sex. I think there was only one time maybe that I felt it during sex, other than that, I never even knew it was there. I barely got a period for the 3 years - it would be barely light enough for even a light tampon maybe once a month for a couple of days. Everyone is different obviously, but I plan on getting another one until we’re ready to try for baby #2.
