Short, efficient (?) breastfeeding session.. FTM
Hi, FTM question... my beautiful daughter joined us 3weeks ago and breastfeeding has been quite a journey for us. I’ve seen a decrease in her BF sessions and just wanna know how “normal” this is....
That first week is just a blur! Surprise c-section at 38 weeks.. milk came in at day 3, ohhhhhh boy did my milk ever come in! Consulted with a lactation consultant in the hospital and then again at 7 days old.. seems like we are doing great, she consumed 3 oz in our lactation session in 22 minutes. Week 2 she averaged about 10-12 minutes each breast at each feeding. Week 3 she seems to be averaging about 5-7 minutes each breast and sometimes will only go for one breast a feeding... still targeting 8-12 BF sessions a day but just seeing the time go down and wanted to check in with this group of BFing experts!!
Birth weight 7#10, left hospital at 7#2 on day 2. Week 1 weight was 7#9, week 2 weight is 8#2 so she is growing well.
Thank you all for the advice/discussions
