When to test

Hi all! This is my first time TTC and I am just wondering, when should I take a pregnancy test? I am so antsy that I took one 4, 7 and 9 days past trying to conceive and I know it’s probably too early. They all came back negative but I’m not losing hope for the sake that I’m just taking them too early, my first date of my last period was June 3rd and we tried on the 16th, when would you suggest taking one? My period is supposedly 6 days away... should I wait to see if I miss a period? TIA ❤️
