Is Masturbation Ok?

Question

So I have always believed that you shouldn’t have sex until after marriage. I have a purity ring and have taken a pledge to not have sex until after marriage. However, I’ve always wondered about masturbation. I don’t necessarily WANT to masturbate now. I just have never known. I mentioned this to my friend and we tried to find answers in the Bible but couldn’t find anything. So, I thought I’d bring it up to this group. Please let me know what you think/believe.

So the bible never specifically talks about masturbation, it's pretty silent on the topic however this is when we have to draw on other scriptures and look at God's character. God is clear that sexual immorality is anything outside of marriage, therefore since masturbation is a solo act and done by one's self it can be considered sinful. God created sex to only be had within marriage with a spouse, if you are masturbating you are taking away something special from your spouse and you two are not one. 1 Corinthians 7:4 states "
The wife does not have authority over her own body but yields it to her husband. In the same way, the husband does not have authority over his own body but yields it to his wife" therefore our bodies become part of our spouse under the marriage covenant and we do not have authority to commit sexual acts on our own, without our spouse. Anything sexual outside of marriage with your spouse is sinful so masturbation to me is sinful and wrong and not healthy or helpful to a marriage.
