Best age gap for siblings?

Our first babe will be a year old in August, my original thought was to wait until he was 2 and then try for another but now I’m not so sure? What is your own personal experience.

I have three years between my daughter (9) and son (6) we are trying for another one now! I think any age is fine :)!

I think the closer the better. My sister is 4 years younger than me and we were always doing different things in life, we didn't really 'grow up' together. She was always trying to catch up to me resulting in her growing up too fast.

I’m not close to my siblings, closest one is 5 years older. But my family is weird 😄. My cousins are 6 years apart and they are the closest sisters I’ve ever met in my life! 
I think it just depends on how you raise them? I agree with above it shouldn’t matter to much. 
Growing up they always took care of me so there isn’t much of a actual sibling thing there. They’re like side parents.
