Is it safe to take my newborn out to a family/friend gathering?

My daughter is three weeks as of yesterday, and I really want to get out of the house to see family and friends. However, I’m worried it’s not good for my baby. I’ve heard you should wait to take your baby out until after they’ve had their two month shots. Of course, the last thing I want is for her to get sick, but she’s been out to Chili’s, Cracker Barrel and Walmart twice, and she’s perfectly fine. I know it’ll be different since a lot of people will want to hold her at the gathering though, so I’m not sure if it’s safe to take her or not. Also, she was born at full term(39+3) and is EBF if that helps. Please help! I’m so torn!

Maybe baby wear the whole time and say baby isn’t ready to be held by anyone yet. That’s what I’d do.

Its perfectly fine. As long as no one is sick and everyone washes their hands.
My little one was born on July 24th and big sister turned 11 on July 26th! So on July 28th we had a party for her. Everyone wanted to hold baby girl and she was perfectly fine. I made sure everyone washed hands and no one kissed her. I asked my mother who is a smoker and smokes in her home and car to change her shirt first.

Do whatever you think is best mommy BUT do not do it just because you feel pressured by friends, family, etc Do it when your ready. I let my family and church family pressure me into bringing my daughter to church at 4 weeks old because everyone wanted to meet her and it was Easter Sunday. I really didn’t want to but I did. They passed her around like a hot potato and I was a nervous wreck the entire time, went home and sobbed my eyes out.

I took my baby out but I wore her in a carrier. I didn't allow anyone to touch, kiss or hold her. Even if people don't look/feel sick doesn't mean they aren't contagious.
We attended a party that later had someone report they developed mumps.

How do you expect her to build an immune system if you keep her in a little isolated bubble..? Of course it’s safe. I mean don’t pass her around or something like that but she should be able to go out in public. She needs to build an immune system as I said..

I visited family like a week after I had my second boy. but I didn't let anyone hold him. A couple ppl asked and kinda got mad but oh well🤷‍♀️ not risking it. I probably wouldn't have gone if it was during winter though.

my baby cousin was born monday and she was out and at my aunts today. i only worry about little ones being out when it’s cold. i also had a cousin bring their baby to a family reunion and she was a few months old. it was in the summer time and outside. i think it’s safe.

Wash hands before holding baby and leave her face alone(no touching kissing) and if your sick don’t hold baby. But your fine. We have been out almost daily with our since we got home from the hospital
