Do you clean your babies ears ?

If so , how old are they & what do you clean em with ? I've been wanting to clean them , He's 9 weeks, but maybe i should just leave it alone. He doesn't have an appoiment until Friday , July 5th.

You should absolutely leave them alone. Ear wax serves an important purpose, to protect the inside of the ear from harmful bacteria and debris, and attempts to clean them can push the ear wax further into the ear which can be problematic. I never cleaned my baby’s ears- the ear wax would eventually accumulate and fall out on its own. Not sure if it’s worth noting but my baby has never had an ear infection of any type. Ear wax is there for a reason!

I just clean the outside with a qtip or use my finger

I put the wash cloth on my finger and run that in the crevices of his ear and then clean out only as far as my finger reaches for wax, which is not in his ear canal.

I bought the oogiebear - bought 2 actually because they’re so tiny - to clean his ears. Never in the ear canal itself, but I’ve cleaned the outer ear with it. Pediatrician actually encouraged cleaning his ears as I’ve done because wax tends to build up, especially when it’s high pollen season.

The ear wax eventually makes its way to the outside of the ear and you can use a washcloth to scoop it out. DO NOT USE QTIPS you can cause injury to their ears.

I started around 4 months old just taking a wet wash cloth in the bath and wiping the crevices and a little swipe of the inside of the ear. He has ear wax on one side that builds faster than the other side.

I clean the outer ear with a q-tip and also behind his ears eith wet washcloth after bath time. I didnt do behind the ears at first... and it was gross and crusty!!

I bought the baby Q-tips I only use them because they’re made to not go in the ear far. My son gets really dirty ears so I have to clean them every couple days after his baths at night.
