Promise ring

My boyfriend is going off to college in a month. In 2 days, we will be 4 months into our relationship. He’s been my best friend for years. And I don’t want to lose him to distance. So, as a going away gift. I wanted to get him a box of stuff to remind him of me. Like my perfumes, something I love, etc. and I wanna add a promise ring in there. As a promise that I’ll never love anyone more. And that id never want to leave him. But I don’t know if he’d react well or not. It’s hard to tell.
