When is the appropriate time to become pregnant? I'm seeing all these girls my age (20) who are already getting pregnant before they're even legal to drink! Doesn't that say something...

I was married at 20 and pregnant at 21. At 15 I lived in Japan without my parents. At 18 I came back to America and finished up getting an American high school diploma. I have worked since 14. Everyone's life is different so everyone's right time is different. I didn't choose to grow up so fast but that's the only option I was handed. My marriage only lasted five years but that wasn't because we were young, my ex husband struggled with severe depression after his mother passed away that ended with him turning to drugs. He was a true addict. He tried it one time and was hooked. He even got clean later on but every day is a struggle for him and he is not mentally the same person. Anyway, at 26 I am trying for number two with my boyfriend who is 21. He's like me, some of us have to grow up to survive being young.

SO glad I waited until 25 to get married and have a baby. I needed those years to have my fun and get my partying out. People don't realize what it's truly like being a parent. It's not a 9-5, five days a week thing where you get weekends and holidays. It's ALL day, EVERY day and it does not stop, especially for the breastfeeding momma. Even now at 25, I don't think I grasped how involved it really was until after I had her. Everyone has kids when they're ready, but personally, I've never seen a mom have kids before 25 that didn't go through a party phase after having their little ones. You just need those years, but you can't explain that to everyone, they just have to live it.

It Varies person to person, depending on what you want in life, and what plans you have. Everyone Will feel ready at different times, someone will be ready in they're teen year, others, 30s, 40s etc. Some people want to graduate, start a career, get a promotion, buy a house, travel the world, party, save money and then settle down for kids. Others want to have a child without doing any of these, different people different goals and lifestyles. What's right time for you it's not right time for someone else. You're the only person who knows if you're ready or not to have a child.

I'm 18 and my SO is 19, she's a plumber and I'm a care assistant training to be a midwife. We have our own place and are trying for a baby. We feel ready for this due to the fact we was forced to grow up before our time. I miscarried before we got together and I've wanted a baby ever since.. So does she.. Age doesn't matter as long as your child is loved and will have everything they will ever need xxx

I mean I honestly have difficulty understanding why anyone would want to get pregnant before about age 25 or so. I guess that's another reason why it's a good thing no one has the right to control another's uterus.

As long as the person/couple feels ready, is a legal adult, and relatively stable it's the "right time".
