Best way to break one year old temp

My son had a high fever for 5 days now.. I been alternating Tylenol and Motrin all five days.. he been to the the doctor multiple times the past 5 days.. they told me to wait til the 5th day of high fever and here we are at the 5th day and now they telling me wait til the 7th day.. he at the point he not eating and barely drinking anything.. they telling me it MIGHT be a virus.. he had diarrhea for 2 weeks (currently calm down since he barely eaten). Can someone help me because the doctors he going to definitely not
