Yeast infection? Confused...

So I’m 25 and I’ve never had a yeast infection. I just had a baby a few months ago and ever since then it’s like I don’t know my vagina anymore. We are distant relatives rather than sisters.

So I just finished my period (I used tampons for the first time in my life during this cycle because we were at the beach) and now I feel like something is weird. My VAGINA itself isn’t itchy but it feels irritated and my vulva and clitoral hood is itchy. Not all the time, but on occasion (it’s been like two days). No discharge or smell. I don’t know if this is a yeast infection or not. My vagina also doesn’t look red or irritated. I don’t want to put medication down there if there’s no need to. Also I called my OB and they said there’s no way for them to check for a yeast infection.
