Would you be okay with your husband/SO going away for a weekend at 36weeks?

So my husband has talked about going on a guys (cousin) camping trip for a few years now. Personally, I’m just a clingy wife so I’ve always kinda turned my nose up to it (🤷🏼‍♀️ sorry), however, all of a sudden NOW they want to do it THIS summer, the weekend of August 16th, which I will be 36 weeks pregnant then!🤯 Apparently no plans are “officially set in stone”, but all the guys are aware the dates and I overheard my husband talking about carpooling to their campsite yesterday. I don’t want to be “that” wife who just shuts down his fun, because I really want him to enjoy cousin time and the outdoors! Although, I’m not a fan of the timing and when I voiced that the timing was concerning his response was “we can’t live by “what if’s”, “there will be other family around if something happens”, “I’ll only be 4 hours away”, “I’d rather go this summer than next”.... where I feel opposite of all of that! I would rather have him go next summer because 1.) I wouldn’t be close to my due date 2.) a weekend home with my son (at that point) would be okay 3.) I don’t want “other family” to be my support system if something was to happen early! 
Sorry for the long post. Just want to rant and get opinions. Am I being too controlling or would y’all have the same concerns? First time mom here and I just don’t think I could forgive him easily IF something was to happen when he was on HIS “recreational” guys trip🤷🏼‍♀️ #momtruth

It appears I’m in the minority here but I’d tell him to go. To bring his own car and make sure he had cell service. 36 weeks you aren’t even considered full term technically it’s 37 weeks. Sure you could go early but you could also go late. He could use one last trip away before baby is born. I’d rather he go this summer than next. But that’s just me. We are also a big outdoorsy family. So that might be my push for it too. Sometimes when life is getting crazy and about to change I myself need to go out in nature and just reconnect and get in a better mind frame. Maybe he needs this like that in preparation of babe’s arrival.

Yes, if I could get hold of him so he could get back in time if needed.
I'd want him to have time with his friends before baby arrives.

I think part of it depends on your pregnancy. Has it been going “normal” or are you high risk at all? To me, if it’s been a “normal” pregnancy, then I would let him go. The chances of you going into labor at 36 weeks are 4.6% and FTMs tend to have longer labors so he could probably get back if something starts happening.
If it helps, my husband will also be traveling when I am 36 weeks (he will be a plane flight away so there’s no way he could get back) and it’s my third so my labor is more likely to go fast (2nd labor was only 6 hours) so I do know how you are feeling.

After 35w Nopes... too close to delivery and it could literally happen at anytime. He would be risking leaving you alone to drive yourself while in labor to the hospital or potentially give birth without him. Ask him if he really wants to risk missing the birth of his child... men don’t really get weeks and how unpredictable things can get the further along you are.

If it's within say about a two hour drive and he can rush back if needed, I'd be ok with it. If it's further than that then I'd be a bit worried.
Also, he shouldn't carpool in case he needs to come back early.
This is kind of a last chance he'll have for a camping weekend like that before baby comes. I'd rather he do it while I'm pregnant than want to go when I have a 1 month old 😂

My husband is going to a bachelor party 3 hours away when I’ll be 36 weeks. He’s only going for 2 days, not the full 4 days that everyone else is. He’s also skipping out on the fishing trip so he doesn’t get stuck on a boat in case I go into labor. I’m definitely nervous about him going but I think we settled on a fair compromise, since I think he could make it back for the birth in 3 hours even if I went into labor while he’s away

My dad did the same thing right around my mom’s due date for me. They were hunting for thanksgiving turkeys. They got me instead 😂 and this was in the days before cell phones! Luckily he made it back with plenty of time to spare. I would just insist that he take his own car so he could drive back if he needed to.
