Does body size matter for giving birth?

Im pretty small but not tiny I wore size 3 pants before pregnancy. I really want to do natural birth but my SO said that I'm small and will probably have to have a c section.   Anyone small who did it normal?   I do have big hips for my size. Does that make a difference?  This is my first and I'm 16 weeks and 4 days

Hi! Don't worry I'm sure you will be able to have a natural birth. My mom is 5 feet tall and wore size 0 and was 100 pounds and delivered both my sister and I naturally no complications :)! Hope this helps

I highly recommend taking a birthing class. We are taking the Bradley method. It's 12 weeks. In this day in age you need to prepare your mind and body before you go into labor if you really want to have a successful natural birth in a hospital. Being knowledgable, and low risk are the best ways to have a natural birth. My MIL tells me the same thing, however my mom was my size and and me and my brother naturally with no issues. Your dr should be able to estimate your pelvic size. I was very petite pre-pregnancy, but my midwife checked my pelvic size during a pelvic exam and said I'm perfectly normal-sized, meaning that I should have no trouble having a natural birth (so long as there aren't any other complications). Perhaps ask at your next appointment! :)

My mom was tiny and my grandma was tinier than her. They both had all their kids naturally :) so I think you should be fine hun!!

It doesn't matter what size you are. Women usually have a c-section if a problem was to occur. Lol.

I went from a size zero to a size ten and I'm 25 weeks now lol I don't think it matters what size you are
