Abusive relationship?

Okay so I’ve been dating this guy for two months now and he’s no nice and loving but today on the way home I slapped his sunburn as a joke and we both thought it was funny but then he turned and started shoving me and he grabbed my arms and dug his nails into me and he was really controlling but now he seems sorry about it and it’s never happened before but he says he don’t know if he wouldn’t ever do it again and how bad it could get, I need some advice please 😕
