Would you stay if so doesn’t want marriage?

Hiya! 
We are 4 years into our relationship and he’s told me he never wants to get married, that he doesn’t believe in it. 
I asked him whether a quite ceremony with close family friends would be consider it then, he said “your wasting your life on me if you want marriage full stop”. 
He is happy to have children but not to get married, I’m really not sure I don’t want children without being married. It’s a deal breaker for me and he knows that. 
What shall I do?

If marriage is a deal breaker then the relationship shouldn’t continue. Would he be okay with not having kids? It’s the same concept.

Nobody can decide for you. He most likely will not change his mind...he literally told you not to waste your life on him for marriage.  Either be ok with not getting married or move on.

If you love in the US, marriage offers you many legal protections and rights that you won't have as a common law couple. It really is more than just a piece of paper. Therefore, it would be important to me to get married.

If it's a deal breaker for you, then it's time to move on. He has a right to not get married, you have a right to get married. Since those are incompatible desires, it means y'all are incompatible in that sense. One of you would have to give up something you feel strongly about, which isn't super fair for either of you.
I'm married and it was extremely important to me TO get married. It was just something I really really wanted, so I made a point of bringing it up very early on when dating to weed out those who weren't interested. It's not fair to them or me to pursue something when we didn't have the same end goal in mind, you know?
It's ultimately your choice, but it sounds to me like he made it clear where he stands.

This was one of the first topics my husband and I discussed when we first started dating. We both expressed our desires to get married and have children. I let him know from the start that I will not be anyone's girlfriend forever.🤷🏾‍♀️ He agreed and told me that he too desired to be married one day.
