How do I treat and prevent mosquito bites? My poor baby keeps getting bit 😭

My 6 month old daughter is in a separate crib in our room. We have protective, sealed sheets over both of our mattresses. However, all of us keep getting bug bites on any exposed area- every night for the last week. Big swollen itchy bites- I'm guessing mosquito.  We also live in California where it's 80 degrees at night, so I feel terrible covering her up in long sleeves, but so far that's the only thing helping! I use a  baking soda and water paste to help calm her bites, but it's not going to prevent more! Any tips? 
Today she woke up with one right under her eye 😭

Well this sounds dumb but cant you use the A/C to keep her cool at night instead of hoping shes not overheating, sweating, and miserable? They most likely are mosquito bites and she just has a bad reaction to them. My daughter is almost 5 and still gets the same reaction. I'm not sure how old your child would have to be...its best to call and ask the pediatrician but I use Calamine lotion on her bites and it relieves itch instantly. Or I know theres the benadryl anti itch cream but I dont have that and am not sure the age use on it. Good luck. Poor babe

Make sure it's not bedbugs - it would be strange for that many mosquitos to be indoors unless windows were open without screens. Even with protective coverings bedbugs can still be an issue.

If you're getting them at night,it might be bed bugs.

I would try to figure out how so many mosquitoes are getting into your house. I live in Georgia and it's in the high 80s to 90s during the day and still hot a night. Also the mosquitoes are horrible. But I don't think we have had any in the house. Usually when they are it's because a door was left open to long or a window without a screen. My daughters (11 months old and 11 years old) have got them while outside we us Hello Bello bug spray (during the day) its all natural and for children. When they do get bites we put the Benadryl cream on them, our dr said it was safe after 6 months but I would talk to your childs dr.

My 6month old gets them every now and then too. Only thing you can really do to keep them away is but spray. My lo sleeps in a long sleep one piece pajama and I keep his fan on

Apparently rubbing banana peel on it helps to soothe the itch!
