Is it normal to bleed after sex?

I’m 20 weeks pregnant and last night we had sex and after we finished we realized there was bright red blood everywhere. It stopped bleeding with in a couple hours but it still makes me worry. Especially because around 12 weeks i woke up in a big puddle of blood after having sex the night before. I thought i had miscarried because of the amount of blood. i ended up bleeding for 3-4 days heavily then spotting almost every day for a month. The baby was completely fine but It’s all just been really scary and make me not want to have sex. Has this happened to anyone else?

This happened to me only once after sex with my 2nd pregnancy. I was only spotting but we went to the dr. everything was fine. Have you talked to your dr about it? I think it kinda depends. They said spotting was normal, but I don’t know about heavy bleeding that sounds scary. :/ I hope you figure it out, update us!

Could be an issue with your cervix. I would def talk to your doc and abstain until then.

This could be an issue that would lead your doctor to rule out sex completely. So I would call just to make sure. 
They say anytime you bleed enough to fill a pad, you need to go in

They haven’t told me that i do. I did go to the doctor when i woke up in the puddle of blood. basically they told me they didn’t know why i was bleeding and that i needed to just wait to see if it was going to continue or stop on it’s own. They said they could do more testing to see why it happened but it would risk my pregnancy so it was safer to just wait it out. I did refrain from sex for over a month until i saw them again recently and they gave me the okay. They told me this could happen through out my whole pregnancy. So i was more looking for reassurance from someone else it happened to since it is super scary . I go again to see them on Monday.

Same thing literally happened to me. I bleed anywhere from spotting to period like bleeding after sex. It happened every time I had sex. I am currently 22 weeks. They could never give me a reason for it either. At 18 weeks I had to have a rescue cerclage put in due to incompetent cervix. Idk if these are related or not but could be a possibility. I’m on pelvic rest and everything is going well so far. 🤞🏼
