Yes! I think it’s just self soothing. I give him a pacifier when he’ll take it! You can break a paci habit easier than a thumb sucking habit if it turns into that.

It's just part of the second leap. They are basically just discovering them and playing.

My daughter has been doing this since in the womb lol we have video of her chomping in her fingers and sucking her thumb (thankfully she hasn’t sucked her thumb on the outside). Like the other mama said, seems to be soothing for them. She also does it when she’s hungry so could be either :)
