Smoke weed during pregnancy?" /> 
Been in a lot of back pain and just need something to relax myself since other pain medications are a big no no.

I was a VERY VERY heavy smoker before I found out I was pregnant. Like at least 8-12grams a day I would smoke with my husband (now) ANYWAYS. I did extensive research and picked my mother’s brain (she’s an obgyn) I was looking for every reason I could TO smoke and be okay with it. 
Here are the FACTS: 
#1 - No tests have been done with marijuana directly being taken/ingested/smoked with pregnant women. Why? Because it’s a little inhuman to run research on something across multiple women when it could potentially be dangerous to the fetus. 
#2 - There HAS however been women who smoked marijuana who have shared their experiences with their child/children having developed asthma, developmental delays and other random misfortunes. But like I said there hasn’t been any studies done to link marijuana to anything because there hasn’t been specific research done on that. 
#3 - Smoking (anything) limits oxygen to the fetus, can cause low birth weight, can cause asthma, developmental delays, has been linked to miscarriage and a few other things I can’t name off the top of my head. 
So I figured hmmmm... then I just won’t smoke right, I’ll do edibles? 
Then you have to think about THC the actual active ingredient in marijuana. 
It’s not suggested for anyone under the age of 21 to smoke or ingest it because it can hurt the developing brain in various ways (not saying it’s bad like you’ll die, but it isn’t recommended for anyone under the age of 21) 
So this is what got me to quit cold turkey... 
I’m getting my baby, (who’s growing vital organs, growing a brain, skin, eyes, fingers, toes) I’m getting my baby ‘high’. And that killed it for me. I have the rest of my life to smoke weed why not give my child the best environment to grow while it’s inside of me. I couldn’t risk the.. well risks. I didn’t want to risk them. There’s already enough other ones I worry about. I didn’t wanna add to it. 
If you are having back pain I suggest CBD oil, or seeing a chiropractor. There’s so many ways for you to relieve pain then pain meds/weed. You can start stretching etc... (even Tylenol is great). Sorry this is so long I’m so bored and had nothing better to do but share this with you.

Anything that restricts oxygen to baby is bad, and you’re still growing someone else’s brain. Why risk it ?

They haven’t proven anything directly linked, but it for sure can lead to having a CPS case.

I had a nurse in my first pregnancy recommend weed because i just couldnt hold anything down. I smoked for 2 weeks straight was able tp hold almost everything down including prenatals. 
Im not saying its a good rhing or at least the best thing but i wpuld have bwen severly underweight and unhealthy had i not. But i wouldnt just do it for fun either

I wouldn’t recommend smoking! I’ve always thought before I got pregnant I’d smoke here and there for the pain but the thought of smoking now while my baby is growing inside of me just makes me uncomfortable! Exercising helps me! I was a pot head lol so I’ve thought about smoking, but instead I put those thoughts aside, and I started stretching and walking. I hope that’ll help you as well.

I was a smoker like Snoop Dogg before I found out I was pregnant in January. I had morning sickness sooo bad it kept me in the bed, I literally smoked from then till Mother’s Day and something inside me made myself stop by the next week. Now I was going to my OBGYN then had to stop and switch to a midwife because of insurance issues. When I received my records I read through them and one said a “Tobacco Session” class was recommended. I of course took that page out but I do believe certain states require you the hospitals to check you and the baby. Definently not a risk you wanna take if baby is that important. Maybe switch to oils if you’re trying to wing yourself off but definitely do because you will be peeing a lot at your appointments. Try downloading some yoga pregnancy apps, stretching to relieve that pain. Also try a maternity band and a pregnancy pillow. Best of luck!
