Birth control? (Read)

This question is probably dumb lmao but anyway I'm 17 and I went to the gynecologists the other day and  she gave me a pack of birth control pills to try out. I'm not sexually active but I'm still thinking bout starting to take birth control pills so I always know when my period is coming, so I can skip it if I'm going on vacation and to be safe and ready for when I actually start having sex. Should I start taking them or is it pointless and should I wait till I start having sex?

definitely start now! birth control pills are hormonal & different types are best for different people. by the time you do start having sex, you’ll have an idea of what works and what doesn’t and it won’t be something else to worry about

Even if you aren’t sexually active now, it’s so much easier to start BEING sexually active if you already have birth control. My parents started me on it at 14, they figured it’d just be an awkward convo for me to ask them for it when I did start being sexually active, and I’m grateful they did that. 
Although it can cause breakthrough bleeding at first. I was on the shot and didn’t bleed at all, now I’m on the pills and I’ve been breakthrough bleeding for a week.
