Incompetent cervix worries
We lost our son at 19+5 last year, I was diagnosed with a incompetent cervix after admitted to the hospital after I felt my membrane bulge. I was dilated to an 8+ when we arrived at the hospital and they don’t do emergent cerclages at our local hospital and I was to unstable to transport. This pregnancy I am 10+2 we had our ultrasound at 8+2 and our second apt yesterday, we had a referral sent to a hospital about an hour away where we are going to go and have our cerclage placed, but they told me that they won’t even call to schedule a first apt until 2nd trimester and that progesterone shots won’t start until 16 weeks. My worry is that with my first pregnancy I dont know when my cervix started shortening and I’m worried about waiting to long. Our next apt at the Obgyn isn’t until August 13 so I’ll be 13+6. And I don’t know when we would be going in for the first apt at the specialist let alone the actual surgery. I feel like I’m rambling I’m sorry just a little overwhelmed.
Edit: I called my OB because I just wasn’t feeling good about waiting, and they said that I just had to wait for the specialist to call me.( had my hubby look up the protocol for cerclages - he is a provider just not in Obgyn ) and the protocols said that early cerclages in most cases won’t be placed until you have two or more losses before 28 weeks which seems crazy to me, so I only fall under the ultrasound protocol and basically have to wait for my cervix to start shortening before they will place mine. So I’m going to call the specialist on Monday and start asking questions because my OB doesn’t know anything about when they will decide to place one. I’m just so overwhelmed
