I’ve been EBF my little girl since she was born four weeks ago. I’m exhausted. She eats great and is latching fine. I’m just tied down to her and my pump and it’s exhausting. I’m also super weird about breastfeeding and pumping in public or in front of people so it’s isolating. She feeds for 30 mins at a time. Does it get better?

Yes! You and baby will get into the swing of things. She’ll nurse less often and for shorter sessions the older she gets. Hang in there mama. Me and my first had a tough time at first but went on to nurse for two years! I’m three months in with my second.

It does!! They start eating way faster and stretching the time between feeds and that helps so much.

You are not alone in your feelings. I was at a party this afternoon and there was a group of moms all who breastfeed. We all talked about how in this heat, in a setting like this party, there was no place to feed the baby or pump. I had texted the homeowner ahead of time and asked if there was a place for me to pump. Just to be ahead of the game. But here were were 4 moms all trying to balance babies and what to do. What it didn't do was stop us from going. It can be isolating at the beginning and exhausting.
I have a 2 month old and we go everywhere together. He loves being out and about. I have just learned to figure it out. Tonight I fed I'm in a Lowe's parking lot lol.
There are things I cannot do yet like camping because I haven't figured out how to store milk for such a trip and hand pump just seems like a task I don't care for. Or a Twins baseball game because I cannot figure out how to pump there with the pump I have. I don't feel comfortable nursing in front of people because I get so hot. But now at 2 months of age I hardly turn down any social gatherings.
Also he eats like a champ during the day but at 2 months he sleeps for 4-7.5 hours at night between feedings. So it does get easier! There is hope at the end of the tunnel!
This is one mom who hates breastfeeding telling you that it does get better! And it will soon! Also talk to your spouse about how you are feeling. Let him know what he can do to help seriously cause men are clueless (bless them anyways lol) but having help manage other things is crucial for sanity.

For me, it took an entire month for it to get better. She was made for BFing (literally crawled to my boob within 10s of being born).  Hasnt gotten off since (she is 22mths and still going). I still had to go through the pain part though. I also found how I fed made a difference. At that old, I usually llaid down with her laying beside me, or I'd just cradle her.
