FTM 💁🏻‍♀️ does this mean labour is near?

Hey guys, I’m 38+4 weeks and currently experiencing a lot of lower back and period like pains, my question is; does this mean labour is nearing or am I just being to positive? 🤦🏻‍♀️ I lost my mucus plug 3 days ago and have been having ALOT of discharge since but I’m aware this doesn’t necessarily mean anything and can regenerate. At my last midwife appointment (36+6) baby was head down but not engaged however the past week I have felt a massive increase in pressure down there and feel like I now ‘waddle’ around 🙈 I just want confirmation that this pain is because things are progressing down there and the end is in sight!

There's no way to say for sure, but I'd say yes. Contractions often start in the back before wrapping around the front.
With my first, I went in to be induced and I was experiencing just some "back pain". When they hooked me up to the monitors, it showed that I was actually in early labor (and didn't have to be induced).

It might be ! Maybe it’s your body getting ready to go into labor . When I had my first son I had cramps like that a week before I had him and then lost my mucus plug the day before I went into labor

At how far along you are, the end is definitely in sight regardless 😊 Your body is preparing for babies arrival, it could still be a couple weeks though, but that’s so soon when you think about it!
