I’m not sure all the health risks, but I do know that my brothers had started to cause his gums to recede at the end! So I voted to take it out just in case that would happen to you

I’d say take it out because any piercing in or around the mouth is damaging to your teeth! If you really like it, keep it, no one can really tell you what to do but personally I’d ditch it.
