Am I protected?

Hi, So I just took my birth control pill and it is 10:49 at night. I usually take it at 9:15 in the morning but today has been a busy day. I have read my pamphlet and it told me to take my pill as soon as possible then take my next pill at my usual time. (I may take 2 pills in one day which I have not since I’ve taken my pill before the next day) My question is should I take the next pill? And also my pamphlet says if I take my pill as soon as I remember and it’s only the one pill that I’ve missed I don’t have to use a backup protection method, but my tracker says that I am unprotected. Should I use a backup method anyway?

Ur pill pamphlet is what is most accurate. So, if u follow it’s instructions & it says there’s no need for a backup method, then yes ur still protected.

Take the one you were supposed to take this morning now and do your next dose at the regular time.  You should still be protected (typically it's fine as long as you don't completely miss a dose) but there's no harm in using an extra protection like condoms if it makes you feel better.

You’re fine, you’re allowed to miss one whole day and still be protected, you’re not protected when you miss two in a row without taking them at all. Whenever it happens, take the forgotten pill as soon as you remember and keep taking the others normally. (I’m on Sprintec but this is just how all are supposed to work, except progesterone only pills)
