Bump size baby size?

Question

I had my bump measured with a measuring tape and was measuring 28 weeks but I'm 29 weeks. My last baby I was measuring 2 weeks ahead by this point and he was 10lb at 40 weeks. I'm trying not to read too much into it but do you think there is a chance I could have a smaller baby this time?

Hopefully, you’ll be okay. My son always measured 1-2 weeks ahead (my OB was convinced he would be 10 lbs). He came out at a normal 8lbs 4oz - thank goodness! My current babe is measuring 2-3 weeks ahead 😐 crossing my fingers that he’s within normal range as well. Best of luck to you!

Firstly gestation can be off my two weeks on either side of ur due date. Secondly you will always measure differently, babies position and fluid level and uterine growth and ur weight and height all attribute to measurement. This measurement system is based on a one size fits all spectrum, it is not accurate !

My first was always 2 weeks behind and was a normal size when he was born. This baby's measuring 2 weeks ahead and now you've got me worried😂

My first was pretty consistently 2 weeks small and was born at 40+6 at 7 lbs 13 Oz. 
My second was 4-5 weeks small and was born at 40+1 at 6 lbs 12 Oz
My third measured right on schedule and was born at 39+6 (induced) at 9 lbs even. 
So for me, the measurements were “accurate” as a comparison guide against one another but my “average” baby was actually much bigger and my “small” babies weren’t that small. 
Curious to see what #4 will be! I’m measuring 2 weeks small right now but I measured small with all of them until 30-32 weeks, even my 9 pounder.

It’s totally a guess. As long as you’re measuring +-2 weeks from your guess date you’re fine. So many factors go into how large you are measuring as well.

I get an ultrasound every single appointment, but they also measure my bump size. If they went solely off bump size my little man would technically be considered behind. But from the ultrasounds, he’s looking just fine on growth, he’s just not popping out.
